BEWARE of unlicensed contractor Jason Bonfiglio representing himself as GBM Group. (The GBM Group of North Carolina has no affiliation with Jason Bonfiglio.) He was contracted to build an addition on our home August of 2015 with the projected completion of 3 months. His contract showed that he was licensed in North Carolina which we found later to not be true. He walked off the job leaving an unfinished and unlivable home. He was paid for more work than what was completed, led us on for months stating he was coming back to finish. Then leaving us with the only option to pay another contractor to finish the job. I filed a claim in Iredell County small claims court and received a judgment for the maximum amount allowed which did not cover my losses. In a text I received from Jason after my court appearance he stated “You and I both know judgments sit on the wall like a picture.”
